With Durga Puja approaching, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has stepped up preparations to ensure better civic management and uninterrupted public services across the city.
Mayor Dipak Majumder reviewed the arrangements and said additional manpower would be deployed in different municipal wards during the festive period. The move is aimed at ensuring prompt attention to sanitation, waste management and other civic requirements as the city witnesses a substantial rise in public movement.
The municipal authorities are also focusing on maintaining cleanliness around major Puja venues and other busy areas. Officials have been asked to intensify field-level monitoring and ensure that civic services remain operational throughout the celebrations.
The Mayor stressed the need for coordinated efforts among municipal officials and ward-level teams so that problems reported by residents can be addressed without delay.
With Durga Puja drawing large crowds to Agartala every year, the AMC is seeking to strengthen its ground-level arrangements in advance and ensure a clean, orderly and hassle-free festive environment for residents and visitors.
