State Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday convened a high-level review meeting to evaluate the stock and distribution of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders across the state.

The meeting, held at Pragna Bhavan, brought together senior government officials, petroleum dealers and LPG distributors to assess preparedness and streamline supply mechanisms in light of global uncertainties.

Chairing the session, the minister stressed that despite external pressures, there should be no disruption in the state's fuel distribution network. He called for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted supply and prevent any artificial scarcity.

Officials reviewed existing stock levels and logistics, while also discussing contingency measures to tackle any potential supply chain disruptions. An awareness component was also included to sensitize distributors about responsible practices during periods of uncertainty.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, the minister dismissed concerns over any immediate shortage. He asserted that Tripura currently has adequate reserves of petroleum products, with additional supplies already in transit.

At the same time, the minister issued a stern warning against black marketing and hoarding, stating that strict action would be taken against any attempt to exploit the situation.

The review exercise is part of the state government's proactive approach to maintaining stability in essential commodity supply, even as geopolitical developments continue to influence global fuel markets.
