Tripura assured of 4-Lane Highway from Agartala to Tripureswari Temple
The Union Minister Road Transport, Shipping and Waterways Nitin Gadkari has assured the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at Delhi of necessary action to convert the present 2-Lane National Highway from Agartala to Udaipur Tripureswari Temple to 4-Lane and also agreed to seek feasibility study of connecting Agartala Airport to Agartala city with 4-Lane Modern Highway in future.
The assurance has come up while the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb called on Gadkari at his office chamber at Delhi.
During the fruitful meeting, Gadkari also assured to have sanction accorded for preparation of Direct Project Report (DPR) for 4-laning of Agartala (ISBT) to Champaknagar on NH-8, 2-Lane roads from Champaknagar to Mungiakami on NH-8, 2-Lane road from Kamalpur to Belonia, National Highway from Champaknagar to Udaipur and National Highway from Udaipur to Amarpur.
Meantime the Union Minister also agreed to sanction the project proposals for widening of NH for Kumarghat to 82 Miles to 2-Lane at the estimated cost of Rs. 109.30 crore and widening to 2-Lane of NH-108 A from Jolaibari to Belonia upto India-Bangladesh Border.
