Bhavan's Tripura Vidya Mandir organised its annual Initiation Programme-2026 for students from Nursery to Class V, aiming to warmly welcome young learners and help them adapt to the school environment.
The event was held with enthusiasm at the MBB Auditorium on the school campus.
The programme was graced by Kunal Sinde, Assistant Director (News), Doordarshan Kendra, Agartala, as the Guest of Honour. Among other dignitaries present were Tapan Lodh, Vice-Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra, and Dr. Rajat Dey, Principal of BTCTE. The event was presided over by retired IFS officer Debashis Chakraborty, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a floral tribute to the portrait of Kulapati K.M. Munshi. A formal welcome was then extended to the distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Swapna Shome highlighted the importance of holistic development among students. She encouraged young learners to excel not only in academics but also in co-curricular activities, emphasizing the institution's commitment to fostering scientific temperament and nurturing responsible citizens.
The programme featured a series of vibrant cultural performances by students, reflecting their creativity and talent. In his address, Guest of Honour Kunal Sinde praised the school's discipline and value-based education system. He commended the students for actively participating in social and cultural activities alongside their academic pursuits.
In his address, Debashis Chakraborty warmly welcomed the new students and expressed hope that their journey at the institution would be filled with curiosity, joy, and meaningful learning experiences, shaping them into capable and compassionate individuals.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Headmistress Pompi Majumdar.
