In one video recorded from inside a police van, Ayesha looked emotional and said, "My hands are shivering right now. I have been detained in a police van for just standing on the road peacefully. I didn't say a word. I didn't even start the protest. I was just standing because my brother and my male friends were detained."

She also turned the camera toward other people inside the van and claimed that many had been taken into custody. According to Ayesha, no one was given a clear explanation. She said, "Everyone is in the van with no explanation. Koi answer nahi hai kisike pass. Mene toh kuch bola hi nahi. I was just standing on the road and I was pulled and pushed by 4 to 5 women, left, right, centre, just for standing on the road."

In another Instagram Story, Ayesha shared photos of police officers and wrote, "Been detained for standing peacefully on the road. #AccountabilityWhere?" She also posted another video in which she asked the police where they were taking the group. According to her post, she did not receive an answer. She wrote, "No answers!! God knows where are we going?"

Another video showed police officers leading Ayesha into the police van. She later shared another angle of the same moment and questioned the reason behind her detention. She wrote, "Unfortunately, it took 4 police women to pull me in. But I ask the same question again, why? Did I make a noise? Did I even start a conversation? Detained me for what? For standing on the road? Wasn't even in the group of 5!"

Before this incident, Ayesha had also spoken in support of the ongoing student movement. She had requested media pages to give more attention to the issue instead of focusing only on entertainment news. In one of her earlier posts, she said, "We are so lost in glamour, beauty, and controversies that we often end up being avoidant of the things that actually need our attention."
