Udaipur, April 8, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) - KTM has increased the prices of its 390 lineup models in the Indian market, with hikes of up to ₹40,000. The move comes at a time when the company is also planning to introduce a new 350cc model.
The price of the KTM 390 Duke has been increased by ₹40,000, while the KTM 390 Adventure X has become ₹17,000 costlier. It is expected that prices of other 390cc bikes from the brand may also see an increase soon. The hike is attributed to rising production costs and the impact of GST, with the company now passing part of the burden to customers.
Compared to the standard 390 Adventure, the 390 Adventure X is positioned as a more road-focused and accessible machine. It appeals to buyers who prefer ADV styling but do not necessarily require strong off-road capabilities. Earlier priced at ₹3.26 lakh, the bike now starts at ₹3.43 lakh after the revision.
Under the current GST structure, motorcycles above 350cc attract a higher tax rate of 40 percent. Until now, KTM had been absorbing the increased cost. However, with plans to introduce a 350cc version, the company may now distribute the additional cost without significantly impacting overall sales. Budget-conscious buyers are likely to have the option of choosing the upcoming 350cc variant.
Meanwhile, Triumph Motorcycles has also launched its 350cc range, highlighting the lower 18 percent GST rate. While Triumph has shifted its lineup to a new 350cc platform, KTM is expected to continue offering both 350cc and 400cc variants, maintaining a clear distinction between the two segments.
Looking ahead, KTM's 390cc lineup may undergo a major transformation with a shift to a 450cc parallel-twin setup. This transition is expected to begin with the KTM RC 390 and later extend to other models. The company has already introduced the KTM RC 450 in China in collaboration with CFMoto. For other markets, KTM is reportedly developing a new 450cc twin-cylinder engine platform.
In terms of performance, the KTM 390 Adventure X is powered by a 399cc LC4c single-cylinder engine that produces 46 PS of power and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed transmission. The engine is tuned for smooth acceleration and better low-end torque.
The bike features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, fitted with 100/90 (front) and 130/80 (rear) tyres. For braking, it comes with a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.
It uses a split trellis frame, combined with WP APEX 43mm USD front forks and a WP APEX Emulsion rear shock absorber, offering 200 mm front and 205 mm rear suspension travel. Key features include Quickshifter Plus, off-road ABS, ride-by-wire technology, LED projector headlamp, and a 5-inch full-colour TFT display.
