Mumbai, April 9 (Udaipur Kiran): NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 77.50, up by 0.83 points or 1.08% from its previous closing of Rs. 76.67 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 78.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 78.55 and Rs. 76.76 respectively. So far 913302 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 92.30 on 09-Jun-2025 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.66 on 02-Mar-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 78. and Rs. 74.23 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 77668.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.40%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.84% and 10.76% respectively.

NHPC has secured approval to invest Rs 26,069.50 crore for construction of 1720 MW Kamala Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Kamle, Kra Daadi & Kurung Kumey Districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the same. The estimated completion period for the project is 96 months. The installed capacity of Kamala HEP is 1720 MW (8 x 210 MW & 1 x 40 MW), which is expected to generate 6870 MUs of energy annually.

The project will be implemented through a Joint Venture Company between the company and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Government of India shall extend Rs 4,743.98 crore as budgetary support towards flood moderation component and Rs 1,340 crore as budgetary support for enabling infrastructure viz. construction of roads, bridges and associated transmission system besides Central Financial Assistance of Rs 750 crore towards the equity share of the State.
