Actress Twisha Sharma death case takes new turn; friends allege key evidence hidden

New Delhi: The death case of Noida-based actress Twisha Sharma has taken a new turn, with her friends making serious allegations against her husband's family.

Twisha was found dead at her husband's residence in Bhopal, and the case continues to see fresh developments.

According to Twisha's close friend Prachi, the actress used two mobile phones-one for personal use and another for office work. She said that only the office phone was initially recovered by the police after her death.

However, Prachi alleged that Twisha's personal phone, which contained important chats, call recordings, and video evidence, was allegedly hidden by her in-laws. She further claimed that the phone was handed over to the police only after public pressure several days later. She also stated that Twisha had stored key evidence on the phone in case she faced any future issues.

Allegations over post-mortem report

Friends have also raised concerns over the post-mortem report, claiming inconsistencies. They said Twisha's actual height was 172 cm, while the report mentions it as 161 cm. They have questioned whether there was an attempt to mislead the investigation.

They have also rejected claims made by Twisha's mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, who alleged that Twisha was undergoing psychiatric treatment and had behavioural issues.

Prachi further stated that Twisha's abortion was a mutual decision between the couple. However, she alleged that later Twisha was subjected to character assassination by her mother-in-law, which led to strained relations within the family.

Allegations of humiliation by husband

Friend Navratan said Twisha's married life became difficult within two to three months of the wedding. He alleged that her husband Samarth Singh used to insult her in front of his friends, calling her "gawar" and questioning her education and upbringing.

Another friend Prerna said that Samarth had initially promised to take care of her after marriage, but later his behaviour changed completely.

Legal proceedings

Twisha's family has alleged that the accused family is misusing legal provisions to mislead the investigation in the dowry harassment and death case.

The family has decided to challenge the interim bail granted to one of the main accused, mother-in-law Giribala Singh, in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Twisha's cousin Ashish Sharma expressed concern that delay in justice could cause the case to fade from public attention.
