Karkala: A case has been registered at the Karkala Town Police Station against five individuals for allegedly attempting to run over a police officer and personnel on duty with their car.
The incident occurred on March 27 afternoon near Hanchikatte in Kasaba village of Karkala taluk. Karkala Rural Police Sub-Inspector Prasanna M.S. and his team were conducting vehicle inspections when they signaled a car arriving from the Banglegudde Circle direction to stop.
According to the complaint, the occupants of the car-identified as Sudarshan, Karthavya Shetty, Arun, Shrikant, and Shashikanth-defied the police instructions. It is alleged that they attempted to drive the vehicle over the officers with the intent to kill them.
A case has been registered against the five accused for obstructing government duty and attempting to cause loss of life.
