Jeevan Pinto, who was employed abroad, had returned home a few months ago and was scheduled to head back overseas soon. On Saturday night, amid heavy rainfall, he left his house carrying a torch to visit his father-in-law's home located on the other side of a stream. He was supposed to cross the stream via a small footbridge along the way.

However, when he failed to reach his destination even after a long time, his family members began searching for him. During the search, his footwear and torch were found near the overflowing stream, raising suspicions that he might have slipped and fallen into the water.

A case has been registered at the Bantwal Rural Police Station regarding the incident. Bantwal Rural police personnel, fire brigade staff, and locals have been conducting an intensive search operation since Saturday night. Although the search continued through Sunday, no trace of him has been found so far.
