Bengaluru: Police have arrested two women caregivers in connection with the alleged abuse of children at a day care centre in Bengaluru's Brookefield after videos showing the incidents went viral.
The accused have been identified as Vijayalakshmi and Manjula, both employees of the day care centre. According to reports, police have collected substantial evidence against the two women, and more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
The case came to light after videos circulated on social media allegedly showed children being locked inside a bathroom at the centre. Another video appeared to show a child being placed inside a washing machine as a form of punishment, triggering widespread concern.
Police are also investigating the role of the IT company associated with the facility and an agency identified as Little Scholar in connection with the incident.
