Chikkamagaluru: Heavy rain that lashed the city on Friday night caused widespread disruption and damage in several areas.
Large trees were uprooted due to the strong winds and rain, while several electricity poles were damaged.
Trees fell in Kote Layout, and reports indicate that the roofs of some houses were blown away.
Several electricity poles collapsed in front of the court premises. The compound wall in front of the IB office also caved in.
With trees and electricity poles falling in multiple locations, power supply has been disrupted in nearly half of the city.
