Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has granted an interim stay on the investigation against YouTuber M.D. Sameer in connection with the alleged AI-generated video on the Dharmasthala village unnatural deaths case.

The interim order was passed while hearing a petition filed by Sameer seeking quashing of the case registered against him.

During the hearing, prosecutor Asma Kausar argued that Sameer was allegedly misleading the public through the video content.

After hearing the arguments, the court stayed the ongoing investigation and adjourned the matter for further hearing to April 22.

The case relates to the broadcast of an AI-generated video concerning the Dharmasthala village unnatural deaths matter, which had led to the registration of a case against the YouTuber.

The High Court's interim relief means that further police investigation in the matter will remain suspended until the next date of hearing.
