Calling for collective efforts to make the nationwide 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharatâ?"Sankalp Abhiyan' (Drug-Free Youth for Developed India) a people's movement, he urged all sections of society to join the campaign.

Addressing the launch of the campaign in Bengaluru after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it virtually, Gehlot said the initiative was not merely an awareness drive but a national movement aimed at building a healthy, strong and responsible India.

Expressing confidence that the campaign would inspire a new wave of awareness among the youth, the governor said, "The vision of Viksit Bharat-2047 can be realised only through the strength and potential of the country's young people."

He urged the youth to channel their energy towards education, research, innovation, skill development, sports and national service.

Stressing that substance abuse has serious consequences for individuals, families and society, Gehlot said tackling drug abuse was not merely a public health issue but a shared social responsibility crucial to nation-building.

He called upon families, educational institutions, religious and social organisations, government agencies, the media and civil society to work together to transform the campaign into a mass movement.

The governor appealed to schools, colleges and universities across Karnataka to create drug-free campuses and encourage students to pledge to remain free from substance abuse.

The campaign is being organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, MY Bharat, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Disha Bodh Foundation, Mohanji Foundation and other partner organisations.

Gehlot also lauded the efforts of the Disha Bodh Foundation, Mohanji Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Rajarajeswari Medical College for organising the programme.
