Over the past few days, locals had noticed a leopard moving around agricultural fields near Munavalli and Matolli villages. Farmers who went to their fields said they found leopard footprints, while videos of the leopard's movement have also been circulating on social media. As a result, farmers, agricultural workers and livestock owners are hesitant to go to their fields during the early morning and evening hours.

After receiving information, villagers alerted the Forest Department. Officials visited the area and conducted an inspection. The leopard's movements are being monitored, and Forest Department officials said a cage would be installed near Koravikoppa village to capture the leopard at the earliest.

Appeal to take precautions: In view of the leopard's movement, villagers have been advised not to go alone to agricultural fields and to avoid venturing out unnecessarily at night. Village leaders have also appealed to the public not to chase or provoke the leopard by throwing stones if it is spotted, and to immediately inform the Forest Department.
