Saudi Arabia: Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia early Tuesday (April 7), targeting the country's major industrial hub of Al Jubail, according to reports.
The attack reportedly triggered a massive fire at the site, which is one of the largest petrochemical and energy centres in the region. Al Jubail hosts more than 150 industrial facilities and covers over 1,000 square kilometres. The hub is estimated to contribute around 7-12% to Saudi Arabia's GDP.
Videos circulating on social media showed large explosions followed by heavy flames, indicating the scale of the attack.
The development comes amid rising tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran. Reports said warnings and counter-warnings have been exchanged, with threats targeting key infrastructure.
Iran has reportedly warned that energy infrastructure in other countries could be targeted in response to any escalation.
