Kottigehara: As a result of the conflict between Israel and Iran, a gas shortage has occurred, leading to a situation where staff at a government school in Kottigehara village of Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district, are struggling to cook.
Due to the non-availability of gas cylinders for the past five days at the Kottigehara Government High School, the cooking staff have been forced to cook on firewood stoves in an open area.
About 60 to 70 students are studying in the school, and the cooking staff are facing significant difficulties in preparing the midday meal. This problem has arisen at a time when it is exam season and teachers are conducting revision classes for the students.
Locals have alleged that despite instructions from the District Collector, this problem has been caused by the negligence of the gas agency.
The school management and villagers have urged the concerned officials to provide gas facilities to the school immediately.
