Karnataka Sanskrit University holds 12th and 13th joint convocation

Bengaluru: The 12th and 13th joint convocation of Karnataka Sanskrit University was held on Tuesday (April 7) at Jnanajyothi Auditorium in the city.

Governor and Chancellor Thawar Chand Gehlot conferred a PhD degree on Dr. Shantamallikarjuna Swamiji, pontiff of Salur Brihanmath at Male Mahadeshwara Hills.

The research was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sharath Chandra Swamiji, head of Kunduru Math. The study was in the Vedanta department on the topic "Anshumadagamam - A Critical Manuscript Study," and the thesis was submitted to the university.

During the convocation, five eminent personalities from various fields were honoured. PhD degrees and gold medals were also awarded to students.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that priority should be given to preserving the Sanskrit language through technology in the digital age. He added that efforts should be made to use Sanskrit as a bridge between traditional knowledge and modern science.
