Udupi: MP Kota Srinivas Poojary and MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty on Monday inspected the ongoing construction work of the National Highway underpass and vehicle overpass at Katapadi Junction on NH-66.
Speaking to the media, MP Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the first phase of the work in the Katapadi Junction area has been almost completed.
He said that the underpass work on the Mangaluru-Kundapur stretch of the National Highway has been completed and will be opened for vehicular traffic at 10.30 am on April 10.
He further said that the work on the flyover will continue after the opening of the underpass.
MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty said that the first phase of the project has been carried out smoothly. He expressed confidence that the second phase of the work would also be completed by the contractor, National Infra Project Company, within the stipulated time.
He also said that efforts would be made to put in place suitable arrangements for pedestrian movement in the area.
Officials of the National Highways Authority, contractors and others were present during the inspection.
