Bengaluru: The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has floated a tender for the construction of Bengaluru's second international cricket stadium, which is planned with a seating capacity of 80,000 and is expected to become the second-largest stadium in the country.
According to officials, the stadium will come up at Indlavadi in Surya Nagar 4th Phase, Anekal taluk, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The project is estimated to cost Rs 943.46 crore.
The proposed stadium is part of a larger plan to develop a 75-acre multi-sports complex, officials said.
As per the tender notification issued by the Karnataka Housing Board, the last date for submission of bids is May 8 till 4 pm, and the project is targeted for full completion by 2028.
The tender covers the design, engineering, procurement of equipment and construction of the international cricket stadium and related development works.
Officials said the project will be executed under EPC Mode 1 turnkey basis, under which the contractor will take complete responsibility from design to construction and hand over the finished project.
Online bids have been invited from eligible contractors or reputed firms registered with CPWD, KPWD or other state government agencies for undertaking the large-scale work.
The tender follows a two-stage bidding system, and applications can be submitted only through the Karnataka Public Procurement Portal.
The key dates of the tender process have been mentioned in the notification.
The last date for submitting pre-bid queries is April 22 till 4 pm, while the pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 24 at 11 am.
Bids can be submitted up to May 8, 4 pm.
Contractors and interested firms seeking further details may contact the Executive Engineer at the KHB head office in Kaveri Bhavan or the KHB office at Surya Nagar 4th Phase near Jigani and Konasandra, the Executive Engineer of the Karnataka Housing Board said.
