Kateel: Following the induction of senior Congress leader Laxman Savadi into the Karnataka Cabinet, his son Shashikant Savadi visited the Kateel Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple on Monday and offered special prayers.
Speaking to the media after the पूजा, Shashikant Savadi said his father had received the ministerial berth with the blessings of Goddess Durga Parameshwari.
"We came to know about the happy news last night. I was in Udupi on business and immediately came to Kateel to seek the blessings of the deity. Our family has always worshipped Goddess Durga Parameshwari with great faith, and we believe this good fortune has come through her blessings," he said.
Shashikant added that the family had expected Laxman Savadi to be inducted into the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
"We were confident that he would find a place in the Cabinet. This is the result of my father's long political journey and years of hard work," he said.
