Davanagere: Demonstrating humanity, the Davanagere and Shivamogga district police departments arranged a 'zero traffic' corridor on Thursday, July 30, to save the life of a three-month-old infant suffering from severe lung complications.

Anvika, the three-month-old daughter of Hanumesh and Pavitra from Bandi village in Kushtagi taluk of Koppal district, developed severe respiratory issues. She was initially admitted to the neonatal care unit at the Bapuji Child Health Institute and Research Centre in Davanagere. However, doctors advised shifting her urgently to Kasturba Hospital in Manipal for advanced treatment.

Responding swiftly upon learning of the situation, the Davanagere District Police arranged a 'zero traffic' route on Thursday evening to transport the baby from Bapuji Hospital to Manipal. Furthermore, they coordinated with the Shivamogga District Police to set up a green corridor, ensuring the ambulance reached Agumbe without any hindrance, earning widespread praise from the public.
