Vandse: The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj is presenting National Panchayat Awards in nine categories under the theme Sustainable Development Goals, and Vandse Gram Panchayat has been nominated in the Healthy Village category.
Out of 2.68 lakh gram panchayats in the country, Vandse GP is included in the final list of 55. Having already drawn attention through its solid waste management unit, Vandse GP has gained state wide recognition by implementing the first Community Palliative Care Center in the state through the Niramaya Society. A team of senior officials from the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj visited to conduct the final round of verification for the award.
