Kathmandu: Senior leader of Nepal's Rastriya Prajatantra Party and former minister Bikram Pandey was arrested on Friday in connection with a case involving the hacking of the public procurement system and allegedly manipulating tender details.
Pandey, also the vice chairman of the RPP, was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), agency spokesperson Shiva Kumar Shrestha said.
Pandey, who is also a prominent businessman, was arrested along with Tanka Kumar Shrestha, the director of Bhishan Construction.
So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the tender manipulation case under the Electronic Transaction Act.
