Davanagere: A phone conversation audio clip between Congress leader B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan and Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC) director Mohammed Siraj has gone viral, sparking political debates.
Reacting to the development, Mohammed Siraj stated, "The audio is 100% false. Zameer never spoke about such things with me. This is entirely a fabricated story. There is no truth in this. People from our own district might be behind this. Since the oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for the 3rd, this has become a crucial juncture."
"Zameer's name is currently on the top of the list of contenders for the Deputy Chief Minister's post. Leaders from our own community or even leaders from other communities might have done this. The entire community wants Zameer to become the Deputy Chief Minister," he added.
What is in the audio? In the audio, which is said to be from the time of the Davanagere South by-election, Zameer is purportedly heard telling Mohammed Siraj that "votes must be cast for the cooker symbol." Reacting to this, Samarth, the Congress MLA elected from the Davanagere constituency, stated that the party leadership should look into the authenticity of the audio clip.
