Ahmedabad: Star batter Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma grabbed attention after Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their IPL title with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
Following the title-winning moment, RCB shared a video on social media showing Kohli celebrating with Anushka, Dinesh Karthik and other members of the squad. The couple's joyful dance quickly went viral, becoming one of the most talked-about moments after the final.
Kohli played a match-winning role in the summit clash, remaining unbeaten on 75 as RCB chased down a target of 156 in just 18 overs to clinch their second consecutive IPL title.
Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Kohli described the victory as a dream fulfilled.
"It's the stuff you dream of. I thought of this moment many times and wanted to hit the winning runs," he said.
The 37-year-old also spoke about adapting his game during the season and credited the emergence of young talent for pushing him to improve. Referring indirectly to 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Kohli said the rise of young players had motivated him to become more aggressive in his approach.
"Such is the demand that super young players are pushing you to up the ante. I had to change my mindset, not my game so much, take on bowlers and get extra runs," he said.
Kohli also highlighted RCB's team effort throughout the season. He noted that eight different players won the Player of the Match award during the team's first 10 matches, reflecting the strength and balance of the squad.
"We've had to wait for so long and then, just to have a group of guys where you feel like you're stepping onto the ground and you don't need to be the one to step up every time," Kohli added.
RCB's successful title defence capped another memorable season, with Kohli once again playing a pivotal role in the team's campaign.
