Leafy Island is a Bangalore based start-up that is solving the plant care problems of plant parents by providing healthy grown plants only along with the support of Botanists.
The startup that went live in pandemic in late July, has already delivered more than 6000+ plants. “Online plants nursery is a highly competitive space. Almost every plant nursery operates within these two focus areas - Shipping small sized plants due to packaging constraint or providing plants in a premium planter. At Leafy Island we chose not to do either - we kept our focus on a more intrinsic needs of plant buyers - ensuring their plants survive. And we ensure that people buy healthy plants coupled with a professional botanist support to grow & take care of them” the company said.
Leafy Island offers customised PlantCare planners, round the clock support from the team of Botanists and ensures 48 hours free delivery of healthy plants at no minimum order value. Leafy Island also has an assortment of pots, planters and soil care mix such as vermicompost, coco peat and neem powder.
Swastika, Senior Plant Expert at Leafy Island says “As a botanist, I provide the users with solutions on common plant problems ranging from watering and sunlight issues, to pest and fungal attacks. Apart from that, I also provide plant specific fertilizers and plant growth recommendations. Leafy Island is a great platform for botanists & horticulturalists to put their theoretical knowledge to practical use.”
Leafy Island looks to scale to pan India in a 2 year time frame. The company is already looking to expand in 2 metro cities by March 2021.
