Do you have ten minutes to enrich the experience of your life?
Time is not what is running out, your life certainly is. As Shri Krishna says in the Bhagwat gita, Change is the law of the universe. But how do you adapt to change, how do you adapt to situations that are directly related to your daily choices and routine. Your choices can take you a long way about how you feel throughout your day and then over a period of time throughout your life.
As stated by Paramahansa Yogananda "The purpose of all spiritual disciplines is to expand consciousness... Through faithful performance of ...
Sādhāna साधना is refers to the disciplined practices taken to achieve a spiritual goal.
This can encompass a variety of practices which could include meditation, yoga postures, breathing exercises, chanting, self-study of scriptures, journal writing, listening to mantras and chanting, praying, Tratak ( candle gazing) and many more. But the million dollar question here is, how could one decide what their Sadhana routine should look like ?
First, make a choice to create a self routine. Understanding your reasons and consciously choosing is the foundation for building your routine. Then explore different practices like yoga postures (Asana), breathing exercises (Pranayama), chanting (Mantra Japa), and scripture study, journalism. Sit with a journal to clear your thoughts. Your Sadhana is a personal journey which could take some time, but don't compare yourself to others. Over a period of time, expirement and identify what works for you. Maybe you find meditation calming but struggle with long sitting postures. Choose elements that feel enjoyable and create a sense of connection. Then Starting small – 10-15 minutes a day is more sustainable than an unrealistic hour you won't maintain. Consistency is key.
(Tapasya) Decide on a time for your Sadhana that works for you, morning or evening. Consistency in timing helps build the practice into a habit. Find a dedicated clean and quiet space and time where you won't be interrupted. This creates a sense of sanctity for your practice. Life Happens: There will be days when your ideal routine won't be possible. Be flexible and adjust your practice accordingly. A short meditation or a few mindful breaths can still be beneficial.
If you still seem confused, seek guidance from a teacher or mentor who can answer questions and offer personalized advice for your practice.
