After a brief pause on fresh inflows, Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management Company (AMC) has reopened subscriptions for its Baroda BNP Paribas Aqua Fund of Fund (FoF) from August 3, 2026, allowing investors to once again invest in the global water-themed scheme.
The fund house had temporarily suspended fresh subscriptions on July 22, 2026, to ensure the scheme remained within the regulatory limits for overseas investments. With investment headroom now available, the AMC has resumed accepting new investments across all eligible modes.
Fresh investments back on track
With the suspension lifted, investors can now make lumpsum investments, additional purchases, switch-ins, fresh Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) registrations, Systematic Transfer Plan (STP) registrations, and other eligible transactions, subject to the terms and minimum investment amounts specified in the Scheme Information Document (SID).
However, the AMC has cautioned that "it may suspend fresh subscriptions again if the available overseas investment headroom approaches regulatory limits. Any such decision will be communicated separately to investors."
Baroda BNP Paribas Aqua Fund of Fund (FoF)
Launched on May 7, 2021, the Baroda BNP Paribas Aqua Fund of Fund invests predominantly in units of BNP Paribas Funds Aqua (Lux), offering Indian investors exposure to global companies engaged in water infrastructure, utilities, treatment technologies and related businesses.
Managed by Swapna Shelar, the open-ended scheme is benchmarked against the MSCI World Index. As of June 30, 2026, the fund managed assets worth ₹50.39 crore, while its Net Asset Value (NAV) stood at ₹15.57 on July 31, 2026.
The minimum investment is ₹5,000 for lumpsum investments and ₹500 for SIPs. An exit load of 1% applies if units are redeemed within 12 months, with no exit load thereafter.

The scheme has delivered a 16.33% return over the past year. If we talk about three years, the fund has generated an annualised return of 11.85%, outperforming the benchmark return of 8.56%. However, its five-year annualised return of 7.69% trails the benchmark's 10.40%, highlighting a mixed long-term performance. Since its launch, the scheme has delivered an annualised return of 8.82%.

SIP investors have seen steady wealth creation
The fund's SIP performance has remained encouraging despite market volatility.
A monthly SIP of ₹5,000 would have grown from a total investment of ₹55,000 to ₹58,575 over one year. Over three years, an investment of ₹1.75 lakh would have appreciated to ₹2.16 lakh, while a five-year SIP investment of ₹2.95 lakh would now be worth approximately ₹4.03 lakh, according to the latest fund data.
Risk metrics suggest lower volatility
The scheme has a Beta of 0.20, indicating relatively low sensitivity to broader market movements, and a Standard Deviation of 0.98. However, its Sharpe Ratio of 0.06 points to modest risk-adjusted returns.
What investors should know
The reopening of subscriptions offers investors another opportunity to gain exposure to global investment theme centred on the water sector.
Apart from the resumption of fresh subscriptions, all other provisions of the Scheme Information Document (SID), Key Information Memorandum (KIM) and Statement of Additional Information (SAI) remain unchanged, according to the AMC.
