Top gainers and losers, May 13: Asian Paints, Adani Enterprises, Tata Steel gain 4%, Eicher Motor down 2%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY50 closed marginally higher, snapping a four-day losing streak, on Wednesday, May 13, supported by buying in metal and defence stocks.

On Tuesday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold stocks worth ₹1,959.39 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased equities worth ₹7,990.32 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

The SENSEX advanced as much as 0.85% to hit an intraday high of 75,191.57. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 touched the session's peak of 23,582.95.

On May 13, the SENSEX rose 49.73 points or 0.07% to close at 74,608.98, while the NIFTY50 ended 33.05 points or 0.14% higher at 23,412.60.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY50 pack was led by Asian Paints, which closed 4.37% higher.

It was followed by Adani Enterprises (4.07%), Tata Steel (3.73%), Hindalco Industries (3.61%) and Bharat Electronics (3%), which were among the other top gainers.

On the contrary, the top losers in the index were Eicher Motor (-2.16%), Mahindra & Mahindra (-1.54%), Infosys (-1.48%), Tech Mahindra (-1.29%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (-1.20%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 60,164.65, reflecting a 460-point or 0.77% jump.

It was supported by gains in Steel Authority of India, which closed 14.34% higher. Dixon Technologies (9.78%), Vodafone Idea (7.32%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (5.69%) and NMDC (5.28%) were among the other top winners.

Shares of Vodafone Idea hit their 52-week high today, after the telecom firm said its board of directors will meet this week to consider fundraising through the issuance of equity shares and/or warrants on a preferential basis, subject to necessary approvals, including that of the company's shareholders. Further, the board of directors will also consider approval of the standalone and consolidated audited financial results for the quarter and the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

On the flipside, Max Financial Services (-3.04%), One 97 Communications (-2.63%), Dabur (-2.17%), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (-2.13%) and Coforge (-1.89%) were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index increased by 55.05 points or 0.31% to close at 17,994.05.

Its top gainers included IFCI (6.21%), Meesho (6.11%), Manappuram Finance (6.05%), Hindustan Copper (5.49%), and Signature Global (5.24%).

Conversely, Pine Labs (-12.24%), Cohance Lifesciences (-5.71%), CreditAccess Grameen (-3.80%), Affle 3i (-3.37%) and Brigade Enterprises (-3.17%) were among its top losers.
