The Indian men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have made it to the semi-finals of the China Open badminton tournament. The Satwik-Chirag duo defeated Li Jun Hui of China in the quarter-finals played on Friday and defeated Liu Yu Chen 21-19 21-15 in straight games.
The first game saw a tough fight between the two pairs. At one point Satwik-Chirag led 13-10, but the Chinese pair made a comeback. However, in the final moments Indian players did not lose moderation and took the lead in the match.
Satwik-Chirag also fought hard against the Chinese pair in the second game and named the match to themselves. In the semi-finals, the Satwik-Chirag pair will face Indonesia's Marcus Gideon and Kevin Succamuljo.
The Indian duo entered the quarter-finals by beating the Japanese pair of Hiroyuki Indu and Yuta Watanabe 21-18 21-23 21-11 in a 66-minute match.
