The floor is found only by those who have dreams in their lives, nothing is done with wings, flying with courage. This thing fits on 12 members of India's wheelchair basketball team. This team is working hard to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. First let's talk about the captain of the team, Karthiki. Kartiki was fond of playing basketball from childhood. What was the hobby, this game was everything for Karthiki. For 15 years she continued to play basketball as a normal player. But one accident changed in 2008.
Karthiki suffered a spinal injury and the lower part of his waist stopped working. Karthiki was forced to use the wheel chair forever. But there was a pleasant change for Karthicki in 2014 when he came to know about the wheelchair basket ball. Kartiki got back to life as a basketball child. Karthiki did not look back again and now he is the captain of India in this game.
Karthiki told, "First I had to go through the same situations as any person with serious injury - frustration, lack of goals. But after reaching a point, I decided to do something. Started swimming. I was a player earlier too, so I knew the difference. In normal sports, you are able to think where you want to go and where your legs can take you. The game is very fast. But when you are in a wheelchair, you also have to move the wheelchair forward. Hair also has to be held. It is not easy. Wheelchair handling is the only technique. You do not get any support from legs.
