In Bandra, where cafés shape the neighbourhood’s daily rhythm, The Deli opens its first Mumbai address, bringing with it the relaxed, coastal sensibility that made it a favourite in Alibaug.
Located in Pali Hill, the space carries an easy, holiday-like mood—inviting you into a calm, sunlit setting that feels both cosy and spacious, like a quiet getaway in the middle of the city. Designed for easy, all-day dining without a set occasion, it’s the kind of place you come back to again, without thinking twice.
The 48-seater café blends blue and white tones with dark wood accents and skylights that flood the room with natural light, creating an airy yet intimate feel and a private room inside the cafe and flexibility, whether you’re dropping in for a quick bite or settling in for a slower meal. It also includes a dedicated pet menu as part of its regular offering, making it as much a spot for pet owners as it is for neighbourhood regulars.
An extension of The Pantry, a thoughtful extension of the kitchen featuring house-made Sourdough and Hokkaido breads, alongside English butter cookies and cranberry granola, all crafted for both dine-in comfort and take-home indulgence. The menu itself leans into familiarity, designed for repeat visits and a sense of ease. It moves from salads to small plates and pizzas to desserts, with dishes that feel easy to return to without overthinking the order.
“For us, the idea was never to create a place you visit for a fixed plan,” says Chef Nitin Mongia. “It had to feel effortless—something that fits into your everyday life, whether it’s a quick breakfast, a coffee break, or a long, relaxed meal. That ease is what makes people keep coming back.”
Mornings begin with favourites like avocado toast, Turkish eggs, hot cakes, kheema pao, and eggs Benedict, while the menu moves into heartier plates through the day—from spicy smoked salmon bowls and chargrilled miso cabbage to lobster linguine, Tom Yum spaghetti, and a loaded kimchi cheese melt sandwich. Coffee sits at the centre of it all, alongside matcha, cold brews, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices, with lighter options like ginger fizz and yuzu fizz.
With its move to Bandra, The Deli finds a natural home in a neighbourhood that thrives on café culture offering a space that feels familiar, inviting, and easy to return to, time and again.
