Investors rallies behind Cow Conservation after UP frames Policy

Webdunia 1 week ago
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's cow conservation policy has transformed cow care in Uttar Pradesh into a new model of employment and entrepreneurship.
This system is now becoming a robust foundation for self-employment, the rural economy, and businesses worth crores. Inspired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, prominent entrepreneurs, engineers, social organizations, and others are entering the field of cow conservation and creating new economic opportunities through products derived from indigenous cows. Consequently, a new avenue for employment alongside cow care has opened up in the state.

There has been a steady rise in the demand for indigenous cow-based products—such as *Panchagavya*, Ayurvedic medicines, organic goods, and traditional food items—within the state. The market for these products is no longer confined to the state or the country; it has expanded to the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Dubai, and several European nations. The expansion of cow-based industries has provided employment to a large number of people and created new income sources in rural areas.

Transformation Driven by the Yogi Government's Policy

The government's policy on cow conservation has transformed the landscape of this sector in Uttar Pradesh. The impact of integrating cattle conservation with organic farming, self-employment, women's empowerment, rural industry, and indigenous products is now visible on the ground. Models based on indigenous cow breeds have boosted the production of milk, *ghee*, cow urine extract, *Panchagavya* medicines, organic manure, herbal products, and other value-added items. As a result, *gaushalas* (cow shelters) are no longer merely shelters; they are emerging as hubs of economic activity.

Shifting consumer preferences and the demand for natural products have also invigorated this sector. The growing popularity of A2 milk, *Bilona ghee*, and *Panchagavya*-based products has attracted entrepreneurs. Many organizations are reaching customers through digital platforms, enabling cow-based products from Uttar Pradesh to access both national and international markets.

Software Engineer Chooses a New Path in Ghaziabad, Inspired by CM Yogi

Aseem Rawat, a software engineer who worked for foreign companies for nearly a decade and a half, ventured into the field of cow conservation inspired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Based in Ghaziabad, his organization, 'Heta Organic,' generates an annual turnover of approximately Rs 10 crore while simultaneously working towards the conservation of indigenous cows. The organization is not limited to production alone; it also provides shelter and regular care for aging cattle.

More than 150 types of products are being manufactured here using milk from indigenous cows. These include A2 Bilona Ghee, Brahmi Ghrit, Panchagavya Ghrit, fresh indigenous cow milk, cookies, "laddus", Shatadhauta Ghrit, healthy sweets, snacks, herbal teas, beverages, as well as skin and hair care products. Asim Rawat's example demonstrates that, with inspiration and policy support from the Yogi government, cow conservation can be transformed into a large-scale business by integrating it with modern management and market access.

Varanasi's Surbhi Shodh Sansthan Becomes a Hub for Cow Care and Livelihood

The Surbhi Shodh Sansthan in Varanasi has also emerged as a prime example in this field. Businessman and philanthropist Suryakant Jalan operates *gaushalas* (cow shelters) in several locations, including Lucknow, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Delhi. These shelters house over 28,000 cattle. Cow dung and urine collected here are utilized for organic farming and the manufacturing of various products.

The institute has provided employment to over a thousand people. Those working here reside within the cow shelters, earning their livelihood while dedicating themselves to the care of the cattle. This model illustrates that cow conservation can be linked to large-scale employment and production alongside social responsibility.

Environmental Engineer from Bulandshahr Establishes a Successful Model

Parag Gaur, an environmental engineer from Bulandshahr, has also emerged as a successful entrepreneur in the field of cow conservation. Managing a herd of approximately 70 indigenous cows, he produces items such as milk, ghee, and a special variety of *Chyawanprash*. His annual turnover stands at around ₹1.25 crore. This venture has generated local employment, and the demand for cow-based products continues to rise. This model exemplifies how economic success can be achieved by integrating cow care, indigenous traditions, and rural entrepreneurship.

Yogi Government Focuses on Indigenous Breeds and Rural Economy

Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chairman of the Cow Service Commission (Go Seva Aayog), stated that the Yogi government is continuously providing incentives to promote improved, high-productivity indigenous cow breeds. He noted that new opportunities are being created in the state by linking cow conservation with livelihoods, organic/natural farming, and the rural economy. This is opening up new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship alongside cow care.
