Malayalam cinema mourns the loss of actor Santosh Nair, who passed away following a road accident. The incident occurred in Enathu, Pathanamthitta, when his car collided with a lorry.
His wife, Shubhashree, was also injured in the accident and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Santosh Keshavan Nair was born on November 12, 1960, in Thiruvananthapuram into a well-educated family. His father, C. N. Keshavan Nair, was a retired principal, while his mother, P. Rajalakshmi Amma, was a retired teacher. After his parents moved abroad to Ethiopia, Santosh was raised by his maternal grandparents. He completed his schooling at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School.

Santosh Nair made his cinematic debut in 1982 with the film Ithu Nangalude Katha. His latest release, 'Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniattam', is currently screening in theaters and will now stand as his final on-screen appearance.
Final Film Set for Digital Release
The Saiju Kurup-starrer 'Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniattam', which premiered in theaters on April 10, is the sequel to Bharatanatyam (2024) and is directed by Krishnadas Murali. The film, which revolves around the family of Sasidharan Nair caught in a tense situation, also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vinay Fort, and Jagdish. It is scheduled to stream on Netflix starting May 8.
