It always had all the necessary and modern features, along with a range that was easy to tackle Indian roads. Now, to carry and improve that image, Tata has given the Punch EV a facelift, which brings a host of new updates. The new model starts at an introductory price of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) with BaaS.

The all-new Tata Punch EV comes with an enhanced look, a modern and upmarket cabin, some new features, and most importantly, a new 40 kWh battery with more range. But what exactly are all the changes compared to the outgoing model? Here's a quick look at them side by side:

The exterior styling of the Tata Punch EV has always been one of its strengths. Right from when it was first introduced in 2024, the Punch EV was clearly a smart-looking electric car. With the new model being launched, the changes might not be very magnificent, but they are subtle and make the car look fresh. Though the overall profile and stance remain identical to the old Punch EV.

Starting from the front fascia, it continues to have a closed grille, along with the split LED headlight setup and slim DRLs. There are very few design elements up front, and the overall appearance remains minimalistic.

Although keen observers would notice that the black-coloured strip on the front bumper connecting the headlights has been removed in the new model. The scuff plate beneath the front bumper has also been redesigned to offer a cleaner overall look.

On the side, there is not much to differentiate between the new and old Punch EV.

The new model retains the 16-inch alloy wheels, thick body claddings and roof rails, with the rear door handles mounted behind the windows to mimic a sporty 'two-door' look. There is also a new 'Tata.ev' badge on the front doors.

The rear design of the Punch EV facelift is similar to the ICE version of the Punch, which had also received a facelift last month. The most noticeable addition here is the introduction of connected LED taillights with a black casing.

What's also different from the outgoing model is a larger rear integrated spoiler, which comes finished in black colour. The rear bumper has also been redesigned to integrate a new faux silver skid plate at the bottom, and a new reflector design, which combines with the thick claddings to give the rear a muscular look.

The interior of the new Tata Punch EV and the outgoing model remains identical; there is not much to differentiate between the two. You continue to get a multi-layered dashboard, but with a new colour theme of grey and white.

At the centre is a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, below which the central AC vents have been placed horizontally. Further down, there is a touch panel, which houses multiple controls of the vehicle and the air conditioning system. The centre console is finished in gloss-black with a jewelled control knob and two cup holders.

From the driver's perspective, there is a two-spoke steering wheel, wrapped in a dual-tone white and black colour leather. The steering wheel also gets paddle shifters for multi-mode regen.

Ever since the Punch EV debuted in the Indian market, Tata had already equipped it with a lot of features, leaving very little space for complaints. But as time has passed, customer demands have been increasing. To value them, Tata has offered a few new features on the Punch EV, which include an updated user interface for the touchscreen infotainment, a new high beam reminder, navigation display in digital instrument cluster and new window switches.

Other features that have been carried over from the outgoing model include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, an electrically adjustable sunroof, front ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, ambient lighting, auto climate control, wireless charger, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and multiple drive modes.

In terms of Safety, the Punch EV facelift borrows all of its equipment from the outgoing model, offering 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with blind spot view monitor and front and rear sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold control, hill descent control, impact sensing auto door unlock, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The Tata Punch EV facelift sees the addition of two larger battery packs in its lineup, while continuing with the same other two battery pack options as the pre-facelift model. The new battery helps the Punch EV with an extended range, which ultimately benefits customers with longer commutes.
