Here is a closer look at the MPV:

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Price And Variants

Variant

Price (ex-showroom)

V300 Petrol

Rs 1.4 Crore

V300d Diesel

Rs 1.4 Crore

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Exterior

Unlike the last time around, the new V-Class coming to India is the 'extra long wheelbase' guise which gives it a mammoth presence. Measuring in at over 5.3 metres with a 3.4 metre long wheelbase, it is one of the largest Mercedes' you can buy today.

Compared to the previous car, this facelifted version also gets new styling. At the front, there is a new gloss-black illuminated grille and large bi-projector headlamps. This being the fully-loaded specification will also get the AMG-line body kit, with sharper bumpers.

The side profile is where you get a true sense of its size, with stretched-out proportions. The body panels remain fairly simple looking with a large sliding door for the second-row. But there are elements like roof rails and 18-inch alloy wheels for some drama.

The rear-end also gets small changes in the form of reworked LED taillamps, boxier bumpers and a large flat tailgate and windshield. There is also a small black applique featuring 'Mercedes-Benz' lettering.

Five colour options are being offered: Sodalite Blue Metallic, Rock Crystal White Metallic, Obsidian Black Metallic, High Tech Silver Metallic and Alpine Grey.

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Interior

The real reason why buyers will be attracted to the V-Class is the interior. Up front, there is a new dashboard with a dual-screen setup, Mercedes' latest 3-spoke steering wheel and a raised centre console with toggle-like switches for the climate control. You also have slim central AC vents and a touchpad to control infotainment functions.

Move on to the rear and you get to see a very flexible 4- or 6-seater layout. There are the massive recliner chairs with large cushions, leg rests and integrated ambient lighting. Then there is also the third row of seats, which can be removed or configured to be front facing, or rear facing depending on the user preferences.

The extra long wheelbase has also resulted in acres of legroom inside, even with all six occupants in place, which reflects the chauffeur-driven target audience focus. Buyers will be able to configure the V-Class with an all-black interior theme or a more airy black and beige theme.

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Features And Safety

Feature highlights of the V-Class include powered and ventilated front seats with extendable thigh support, powered, ventilated and massaging second row and even a ventilated third row of seats. Additionally, there are multiple wireless chargers, a 640W 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system, heat-insulating glass, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control and 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

Safety is also covered with 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, driver drowsiness detection, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, front and rear parking sensors and hill hold assist.

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Powertrain

Under the hood, the new V-Class gets a choice of 2-litre turbo-petrol or 2-litre diesel engines which come mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Here are the detailed specifications:

Engine

2-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid

2-litre diesel

Transmission

231 PS (+20 PS)*

237 PS

Torque (Nm)

370 Nm (+200 Nm)*

500 Nm

AT- Automatic transmission (torque converter)

Remarkably, the focus on comfort has not been lost in this department either, and the V-Class gets an air suspension on all four ends as standard.

2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class: Rivals

The new V-Class will rival other luxury MPVs such as the Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM. For chauffeur-driven buyers it could also be seen as an alternative to full-size luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-series.

ZigSays…

Van culture is on the rise globally, and interestingly it is the ultra-luxury segment which is leading the way in India! The new V-Class may not be the most fashionable way to get around but it surely makes a strong case for itself with the immense practicality, 1BHK-like room inside and all the comfort features you could think of. Perhaps the largest threat to the S-Class has come from its own sibling!
