Norton Atlas GT Spied Testing In India Again; Could Launch Soon

The Norton Atlas GT has been spotted testing in India yet again as the British brand continues development of its upcoming middleweight lineup.

Norton Motorcycles is now owned by TVS Motor, and the Indian manufacturer has been investing heavily in reviving the historic brand with a range of new motorcycles.

The Atlas GT is expected to be part of Norton's upcoming product portfolio, which will also include models such as the Norton Manx and Manx R. Among these, the Atlas GT will be positioned as a rather affordable ADV.

The test mule spotted recently appears to be the more road-biased GT variant of the Atlas lineup, as evident from the 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The bike looks similar to the one unveiled at the 2025 EICMA show and to the one which was spotted testing a few weeks ago.

What We Know So Far

While Norton has not officially revealed complete specifications, we know that the Atlas will be powered by a 585cc parallel-twin engine, expected to make around 70PS. As for the features, the Atlas GT is expected to come loaded with premium equipment. The motorcycle is likely to feature an 8-inch touch-sensitive TFT console, keyless ignition, adjustable suspension and multiple ride modes. A 6-axis IMU is also expected to be part of the package, enabling advanced electronics such as lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control and cornering cruise control.

Additional rider aids will include launch control, hill-hold assist and wheelie control, along with heated seats and grips and a bidirectional quickshifter. In terms of comfort, the bike is expected to offer adjustable levers, footpegs and windscreen to reduce fatigue on long journeys. The Atlas GT will also get a sophisticated lighting setup with twin LED projector headlight that automatically adjusts brightness based on speed, along with DRLs, cornering and puddle lights.

Expected Launch & Rivals

The Norton Atlas GT is likely to launch later this year by mid-2026. Once launched, the Atlas GT will go up against the Honda NX500, Kawasaki Versys 650, and the Benelli TRK 502.
