Simple has launched the Gen 2 One and OneS electric scooters, while also unveiling the new flagship scooter - the Simple Ultra. Prices start at Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, introductory) for the Simple OneS Gen 2, and go up to Rs 1,77,999 for the top-spec Simple One Gen 2.
Simple OneS Gen 2
The Simple OneS now has an IDC range of 190km as compared to 181km previously - from the same 3.7kWh battery capacity. The brand claims this has happened by the virtue of the battery pack being more power dense than before. The electric motor puts out 6.5kW, 52Nm, and hits a top speed of 90kmph, while doing the 0-40kmph sprint in 3 seconds (all claimed). The kerb weight has dropped by 6kg to 118kg, and braking improves with a shorter 18.49m stopping distance.

Simple One Gen 2
The Simple One Gen 2 is now offered in two battery variants. The 4.5kWh version delivers an IDC range of 236km, produces 6.4kW and 52Nm, goes up to 90kmph and does 0-40kmph in 3.3 seconds (claimed).
The new 5kWh variant turns things up with 8.8kW, 72Nm, claimed IDC range of 265km, 115kmph and 0-40kmph in 2.55 seconds. The 4.5kWh is priced at Rs 1,69,999 and the 5kWh at Rs 1,77,999. (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

Keeping Things…Simple?
Compared to Gen 1.5, the One Gen 2 is 8kg lighter at 129kg (kerb), has a new minimalist dashboard, a new 1-litre glovebox, a dedicated charging port, increased 35-litre underseat boot (30 litres before), and a 16mm lower seat height at 780mm - the same goes for the OneS as well.
New rider aids include traction control, cruise control, 4-level regen-braking, and 6 riding modes: Eco X (not in OneS), Eco, Ride, Air (called 'Dash' before), Sonic, Sonic X (only in 5kWh). This Simple electric scooter is available in 5 single-tone colours (Brazen Black, Aero Grey, Grace White, Azure Blue, Sonic Red), and 4 dual-tone options: Light X, Aero X, Brazen X, Asphalt X.

Across the Gen 2 range, Simple Energy says it's using newer, more power-dense lithium-ion batteries. All scooters support home charging via a portable 750W charger. They all also come loaded with connected tech like a 5G e-SIM with LTE, Bluetooth, OTA updates, TPMS, geo-fencing, Find My Vehicle, Park Assist with forward and reverse function.
The Simple One Gen 2 gets a 7-inch touchscreen TFT with built-in navigation, while the OneS uses a non-touch display with turn-by-turn navigation. Warranty coverage is strong too, with up to 8 years or 80,000km on the battery and motor under extended plans.

The Simple One Pro Max
Also unveiled was the Simple Ultra, the brand's new flagship scooter. It packs a 6.5kWh battery which the company says is the largest one on an electric scooter in India - with an IDC range of 400km! Other notable figures include a 115kmph top speed and a 2.77 second 0-40kmph sprint. Bookings are open and the prices will be announced soon.
ZigSays
The Gen 2 update is a well-rounded step up from the Gen 1.5, turning the Simple One and OneS into much more feature-packed electric scooters that look ready to take on their rivals, at least going by the spec sheet. With more tech, reduced weight and newer battery technology aimed at improving real-world performance, the lineup feels significantly more mature. We'll reserve our final verdict until we get to ride the EVs ourselves very soon.
