വൃദ്ധനായ പിതാവിനെ കഴുത്തില് ചവിട്ടി ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ച് കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച കേസില് മകന് നാല് വർഷം കഠിനതടവും അമ്പതിനായിരം രൂപ പിഴയും വിധിച്ചു. പന്തളം തെക്കേക്കര പെരുമ്പുളിക്കല് സ്വദേശി മഹേന്ദ്രൻ (44) നെയാണ് പത്തനംതിട്ട അഡീഷണല് ജില്ലാ ആൻഡ് സെഷൻസ് കോടതി (രണ്ട്) ശിക്ഷിച്ചത്.
മദ്യലഹരിയില് ക്രൂരമായ ആക്രമണം
പ്രായമായ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട ബാധ്യത ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും പ്രതി ഇരുവരെയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചതായി അന്വേഷണത്തില് കണ്ടെത്തി. തുടർന്ന് വീടിന് സമീപത്തെ സ്കൂളിന് മുന്നില് ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്ന പിതാവിനെ മദ്യലഹരിയില് എത്തി റോഡിലേക്ക് വലിച്ചിഴച്ച ശേഷം ഇരുകാലുകളും ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ച് കഴുത്തില് ചവിട്ടി ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ച് കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചെന്നാണ് കേസ്.
പൊലീസ് അന്വേഷണത്തില് കുറ്റപത്രം
സംഭവത്തെ തുടർന്ന് അന്നത്തെ പന്തളം പൊലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷൻ സബ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടറായിരുന്ന കെ. ബി. അജിയാണ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്ത് അന്വേഷണം നടത്തുകയും കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തത്. വിചാരണക്കിടെ പ്രോസിക്യൂഷന് വേണ്ടി അഡ്വക്കേറ്റ് അനില്കുമാർ പി. ആർ. ഹാജരായി.
