Ravi Pujari's voice spectrography done
The Ahmedabad Crime Branch conducted a voice spectrography test of gangster Ravi Pujari at the Gandhinagar Forensic Science Laboratory on Monday. According to police sources, Pujari's voice spectrography test report has been positive, which means that his voice matches the recording of the threatening phone call that was taken into account in Borsad case.
Pujari has cases relating to murder, attempted murder, ransom and intimidation registered against him in Gujarat. The crime branch took custody of the gangster from Bangalore police in a case of firing on Borsad municipal councillor Pragnesh Patel and thereafter threatening his brother on the phone. During the interrogation, Pujari also confessed to the crime.
Crime branch investigators on Monday took Pujari to the FSL to collect scientific evidence to back his confession as his police remand ends on Tuesday. His voice spectrography was conducted under tight security at the FSL during the one-hour process.
Crime branch sources said, "We discussed the telephone recording found in the Borsad case and Pujari's voice sample report taken on Monday. The FSL has not yet submitted a written report. According to the expert, the primary reading of voice spectrography, the recording of Borsad case and the voice of Pujari match. So, the voice spectrography test is positive, the written report of which will be submitted by FSL in the coming days."
A crime branch official said, " Pujari has confessed to the crime in the Borsad case, but it is imperative that the offence is not left unresolved during hearing as in many cases the accused retracts his statement after confessing to the police. So, it is necessary to present scientific evidence in court, including his telephone recording and the sample of voice spectrography in the case."
