'What day/night will be the wildest party?' Emails expose Musk's planned trips to Epstein's island

Newly released US Justice Department files show billionaire Tesla founder Elon Musk contacted convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions to discuss potential visits to Epstein's Caribbean island, Little Saint James.

In a November 2012 exchange, Epstein asked how many people Musk would like flown by helicopter to the island.

Musk replied, "Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on =our island?"

In December 2013, Musk wrote, "Will be in the BVI/St Bart's area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?"

Epstein responded, "Play it by ear if you want… always space for you." He later added, "I will come and get you."

It remains unclear whether any visit took place. Musk has said he repeatedly rejected Epstein's invitations, posting in 2025: "Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED."

Prince Andrew's Buckingham Palace invitation

The files also reveal that former British royal Prince Andrew invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace shortly after Epstein's release from house arrest.

According to a message dated September 27, 2010, Epstein contacted Andrew while in London, writing, "What time would you like me... we will also need (to)... have private time."

Andrew replied that he was leaving Scotland and suggested, "We could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy." Two days later, he followed up: "Delighted for you to come here to BP (Buckingham Palace). Come with whomever, and I'll be here free from 1600ish to 2000."

Andrew, now Mountbatten-Windsor, has consistently denied wrongdoing. His ties to Epstein resurfaced following the release of earlier documents and a posthumous memoir by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre. King Charles III later stripped Andrew of all royal titles and forced him to vacate his Windsor estate mansion.

Giuffre accused Andrew of sexual assault when she was 17; he denied the allegations and settled a lawsuit in 2022 without admitting guilt. Giuffre, a US and Australian citizen, died by suicide in April. Epstein died by suicide in 2019.

Other figures named in documents

The newly released files also detail interactions between Epstein and several prominent figures.

Documents show that in December 2012, Epstein invited US businessman Howard Lutnick to his private Caribbean island for lunch. Lutnick's wife, Allison Lutnick, responded that they would arrive by yacht with their children. On another occasion in 2011, Epstein and Lutnick had drinks, according to a schedule shared with Epstein.

Lutnick has previously sought to distance himself from Epstein, saying in a 2025 interview that he cut ties with him decades ago, describing him as "gross." However, documents show their lives intersected as recently as 2018, when Epstein contributed to a philanthropic dinner honouring Lutnick. Emails also show the two exchanged messages in 2017 about construction near their homes.

Steve Bannon exchanges

The files contain hundreds of friendly text messages between Epstein and Steve Bannon in the months leading up to Epstein's death. The messages include discussions about politics, meals and travel.

On March 29, 2019, Bannon asked Epstein, "Is it possible to get your plane here to collect me?"

Epstein replied that his crew was attempting to arrange the flight, adding that if Bannon found a charter instead, "I'm happy to pay." Epstein later texted, "My guys can pick you up. Come for dinner."

On June 28, 2019, Epstein messaged Bannon, "Now you can understand why trump wakes up in the middle of the night sweating when he hears you and I are friends."

Bannon replied, "Dangerous."

Epstein was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges on July 6, 2019. He was found dead in his cell just over a month later.

Survivors criticise document release

A group representing survivors and their relatives said the massive cache of files released Friday protects the names of abusers at the expense of victims.

A statement issued by the publicist for the late Virginia Giuffre said: "This latest release of Jeffrey Epstein files is being sold as transparency, but what it actually does is expose survivors." "As survivors, we should never be the ones named, scrutinised, and retraumatised while Epstein's enablers continue to benefit from secrecy."

The group rejected the idea that the latest release represents all documents that should be made public, adding: "This is not over. We will not stop until the truth is fully revealed and every perpetrator is finally held accountable."
