The best-selling 125cc bike sold more units than the second and the third bestsellers
According to the recent SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data for the month of September 2025, we spotted some very interesting changes in the sales figures of the 125cc segment.
We have compiled a list of the top 5 best-selling 125cc bikes in India, and here it is:
Honda Shine 125
Sales | Units Sold |
September 2025 | 1,56,613 |
August 2025 | 1,41,332 |
September 2024 | 1,53,476 |
The Honda Shine 125 is one of the most reliable commuters you can buy in India. It is easy to ride, has a fuss-free ownership experience and also returns good mileage. Honda sold 1,56,613 units of the Shine 125 in September 2025, which is a 10.81% increase in the bike's Month-on-Month sales figures. Also, the YoY sales numbers have increased by 2.04% when compared to September 2025. We also expect a sharp increase in the bike's MoM sales due to the recent festive season and the reduced GST on bikes with engines less than 350cc.

Bajaj Pulsar 125cc Range
Sales | Units Sold |
September 2025 | 91,743 |
August 2025 | 58,941 |
September 2024 | 78,590 |
The Bajaj Pulsar 125cc range includes the Bajaj Pulsar 125, the Bajaj Pulsar N125 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. All of these bikes are excellent value-for-money machines and sell in quite decent numbers.
The Bajaj Pulsar 125cc range saw a 55.65% increase in MoM sales and a 16.73% increase in YoY sales when compared to September 2024. With the new GST 2.0 regulations that came into effect on September 22, 2025 and the festive offers, the Bajaj Pulsar range got cheaper by up to Rs 23,000. TVS Raider 125
Sales | Units Sold |
September 2025 | 41,753 |
August 2025 | 33,434 |
September 2024 | 43,274 |
The TVS Raider 125 practically popularised the 125cc sporty commuter segment in India with its launch back in 2021. It is fuel-efficient, peppy, and gets a very bassy exhaust note, making it a fun little bike.
TVS sold 41,753 units of the bike in September 2025, a 24.88% increase in MoM sales, which is quite healthy growth. We think that this bump in sales has happened due to the recently passed festive season and the GST 2.0 price cuts. The YoY sales, though, have shown a 3.51% decrease, but we think this is just a small fluctuation, rather than being a sales drop.

Hero Glamour Range
Sales | Units Sold |
September 2025 | 30,140 |
August 2025 | 22,248 |
September 2024 | 19,831 |
The Hero Glamour range includes three bikes: the Hero Glamour 125, the Hero Glamour 125 Xtec and the Hero Glamour X 125. The largest Indian two-wheeler brand sold over 30,140 units in September 2025. This is a 35.47% increase in MoM sales. We think this is due to the recent launch of the most feature-packed Glamour ever to be produced. Also, the YoY sales were quite promising, with a 51.98% increase.

Hero Xtreme 125R
Sales | Units Sold |
September 2025 | 21,184 |
August 2025 | 15,088 |
September 2024 | 37,520 |
Hero sold 21,184 units of the Xtreme 125R in September 2025, which is a 40.40% decrease in MoM sales. While this might be a good increase in sales, the YoY sales numbers have fallen by 43.53%, which is honestly quite a lot.

We think that it's now a lot more logical for Hero to offer a similar set of features as the new Glamour X 125 on the Hero Xtreme 125R, as these bikes share the same engine, and that might help the bike get back in the competition.
