At a time when intense and dark content is dominating Bollywood, light-hearted romantic comedies continue to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences.
In this context, Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankar's upcoming film Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is gearing up for its theatrical release. Produced by Vinod Bachchan and Umesh Kumar Bansal, the film promises a fresh story with an entertaining and breezy approach. Recently, the lead actors Avinash and Medha spoke in an interview. Asha Bhosle's Songs Make Every Stage Complete, Say Top Singers
Do you think strong conflict is missing in today's films? What is your take on this?
Avinash Tiwary: These days, many films seem to lack depth and strong conflict. However, the ultimate goal of cinema is to entertain the audience. Whether it's horror, rom-com, or intense drama, what matters is that viewers have a good two-hour experience. There was a time when only rom-coms were being made, then came the phase of action and intense content. Now, audiences want to watch all kinds of content.
Do you think the charm of rom-coms has faded, or is it just a shift in trends?
Medha: Not at all. Rom-coms can never fade away. People will always need light-hearted, love-filled content. Watching only intense films can feel exhausting. Rom-coms act as a 'breather' that brings joy and keeps the belief in love alive.
Dhurandhar 2 Reaction: Sooraj Barjatya Calls It a Perfect Film
What was your first impression of each other during the shoot?
Medha: My first impression was very positive because we already knew each other, as we were working on another film together. There was a comfortable energy on set. It never felt formal; everything was very natural.
