During the Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and Bangladesh, Axar Patel produced one of the finest deliveries of the tournament, dismantling Mushfiqur Rahim's defense and getting him caught behind with a dream ball in the Champions Trophy clash.

The Bangladesh batter was completely outfoxed, departing for a golden duck.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh had a disastrous start, losing quick wickets to the pacers. When spin was introduced, hopes were high that their batters would handle it better, but Axar had other plans. At his absolute best, he shattered their expectations with a magical delivery.

He bowled a flighted off-break that landed on middle stump, tempting Mushfiqur forward. The ball took the outside edge, and KL Rahul completed a sharp catch. With the pitch offering ample assistance to spinners, Axar made full use of the conditions, showcasing his wizardry with the ball.

Axar misses hat-trick as Rohit drops sitter in IND vs BAN 2025

Axar Patel missed a hat-trick in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday. He removed Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim on consecutive deliveries in the ninth over, but India captain Rohit Sharma dropped a simple catch in the slips on the next ball, denying Axar the milestone.

Jaker Ali edged one thickly, but Rohit Sharma couldn't hold on. Frustrated, the Indian skipper hit the ground multiple times and apologized to Axar, who responded with a wry smile. Axar's double strike left Bangladesh reeling at 35/5 after Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana had claimed the first three wickets.

Towhid Hridoy and Jaker then steadied the innings with a resilient stand, aided by India's sloppy fielding. In the 20th over, Hridoy, batting on 23, got a lifeline when Hardik Pandya dropped him at mid-off off Kuldeep Yadav's bowling.
