IPL 2026: Dilshan Madushanka Replaces Brydon Carse in SRH Squad

New Delhi, April 14: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury. In his place, SRH has signed Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka.

Madushanka was previously part of the Mumbai Indians but did not get a chance to play in any matches. Carse sustained his injury during practice ahead of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) when a ball struck his hand. He has not recovered in time and will miss the remainder of the tournament. The left-arm pacer Madushanka has joined SRH at his base price of ₹75 lakh.

Madushanka has shown impressive form in the T20 World Cup 2026, taking 5 wickets in 4 matches with an economy rate of just 8. His addition is expected to strengthen SRH’s bowling attack.

According to reports from ‘Cricbuzz’, the team’s regular captain Pat Cummins is expected to return fit by April 17. Cummins will undergo a fitness test in Australia on Wednesday. If he passes, he may play against Chennai Super Kings on April 18.

Sunrisers Hyderabad recently delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs. Debutants Prabhul Hinge and Saqib Hussain each took four wickets. Hinge claimed 4 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs, while Saqib took 4 wickets for just 24 runs.

In batting, captain Ishan Kishan scored a powerful 91 runs off 44 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes. Heinrich Klaasen contributed with 40 runs off 26 balls.
