Banswara/Jaipur, August 2 (Daily Kiran) - RajasthanChief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday reiterated the state government's commitment to the development of tribal communities and farmers.
Speaking at the state-level ceremony of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi held in Banswara, CM Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new era of rural development and farmer welfare is being ushered in.
During the event, Sharma announced that over ₹1,600 crore has been transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the bank accounts of more than 76 lakh farmers across Rajasthan as part of the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The national launch was held in Varanasi by Prime Minister Modi.
Sharma praised the Prime Minister for launching the scheme that has transformed the lives of small and marginal farmers. He highlighted key achievements including massive fertiliser subsidies, the creation of over 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and the launch of the e-NAM platform for online agricultural trade. He also noted the increase in Minimum Support Prices (MSP) by ensuring a minimum 50% profit on cost of production, and simplification and expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
The Chief Minister said the Rajasthan government has increased the state-level Kisan Samman Nidhi amount to ₹9,000, with a commitment to further raise it to ₹12,000. So far, ₹6,800 crore has been transferred to farmers under the state component.
Highlighting the government's focus on tribal welfare, Sharma said that PM Modi has launched the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, aimed at inclusive development of tribal areas, benefiting over 5 crore tribal citizens across the country. He also spoke about the PM Janman Yojana launched on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, focusing on basic infrastructure in tribal-dominated villages.
Sharma announced several state initiatives including the approval of seven new ashram hostels, three new residential schools, and 250 new Maa-Badi centres in tribal areas. The honorarium for cooks and teachers at these centres has been raised by 10%. He also mentioned that 530 Van Dhan centres are helping tribal families market forest produce.
He noted the state's efforts to develop Mangarh Dham as a religious and tourist destination and increased the TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) fund from ₹1,000 crore to ₹1,500 crore. Monuments such as Dungar Baranda in Dungarpur, Bansiya Charpota in Banswara, and the Veer Balika Kalibai Museum in Udaipur are being developed to preserve tribal heritage.
Sharma said the tribal community is significantly benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the rural component, over 17.37 lakh pucca houses have been constructed in Rajasthan. He emphasized that the vision of a developed Rajasthan by 2047 depends on the prosperity of villages, happiness of farmers, and dignity, facilities, and opportunities for every tribal family.
Tribal Regional Development and District In-charge Minister Babu Lal Kharadi, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Zoraram Kumawat, and Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak also addressed the gathering.
Inauguration and Distribution of Agricultural Benefits
At the event, CM Sharma distributed symbolic cheques to farmers under various schemes including polyhouses, solar pump sets, Govardhan organic fertiliser scheme, fencing subsidy, and the PM Micro Food Processing Enterprises Upgradation Scheme. Under PMAY-Gramin, ₹137 crore was transferred to over 28,000 beneficiaries via DBT, and symbolic house keys were handed over. Two beneficiaries also received Saras Booth and Mini Mart allocation letters.
He also laid the foundation stones for the Papaya Centre of Excellence in Sikrai (Dausa), and the Beekeeping Centre of Excellence in Devdawas (Tonk), and inaugurated the Horticulture Trial Centre building in Khemri (Dholpur).
The event was attended by MLAs Kailash Meena and Shankar Lal Decha, District Head Resham Malviya, various public representatives, and a large number of farmers.
