Bhu Bharati portal launched in five mandals on pilot basis

Bhu Bharati portal launched in five mandals on pilot basis

HyderabadMail.com 1 month ago

HYDERABAD: The state government will roll out the Integrated Bhu Bharati portal on a pilot basis in five mandals from April 2, aiming to streamline land records and resolve disputes.

The portal integrates services ranging from land surveys to registration on a single platform, allowing citizens to access complete land-related information through smartphones.

Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the initiative aligns with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's vision to provide a permanent solution to land disputes. He described it as a major reform to ensure transparent and hassle-free services by bringing land, survey and registration departments under one system.

Five mandals selected for pilot implementation phase

The pilot will be implemented in Kusumanchi (Khammam district), Aswaraopeta (Bhadradri Kothagudem district), Amangal (Ranga Reddy district), Vatpally (Sangareddy district), and Kosgi (Narayanpet district).

Feedback from these mandals will be used to identify gaps and improve the system before expanding it across the state.

Currently in Kerala for Assembly election campaigning, the minister conducted a teleconference with revenue officials on April 1 to review preparations. He directed officials to design the portal from a farmer-centric perspective and ensure no inconvenience to the public.

District collectors in the pilot areas have been asked to closely monitor implementation.

Digital surveys and real-time updates for farmers

The portal removes the need for citizens to visit Mee Seva centres, enabling access to services from home.

Farmers can log in, view land details, and apply for surveys by selecting land extent, with fees displayed online. After payment, requests are assigned to licensed surveyors.

Notices will be issued to adjacent landowners within two days, and survey dates fixed within a week. Surveys will use advanced rover technology, replacing traditional methods to improve speed and accuracy.

Survey data will be uploaded, verified by mandal surveyors, and approved by the tahsildar. Applicants will then receive Land Parcel Map (LPM) and Bhudhaar numbers.

The system will send SMS alerts at every stage, ensuring transparency and real-time updates.

Under the Bhu Bharati Act, survey maps will be mandatory during land registration in pilot mandals. Each map will carry a unique number, and every land parcel will be assigned a Bhudhaar number, similar to Aadhaar.

The minister said adequate surveyors have been deployed to handle applications efficiently and that modern technology would reduce delays and improve accuracy.
