HYDERABAD: Managing Director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) addressed three critical public concerns, offering assurances on sewage management, drinking water supply, and infrastructure development.
Going into details, Ashok Reddy (IAS), Managing Director of HMWSSB, confirmed that sewage flowing into Muski Lake is under active review by the Board. He assured that measures are being implemented to establish a permanent solution to the long-standing pollution problem, a major environmental concern for the region.
Cyberabad drinking water woes: Godavari Phase-2 to bring relief
Addressing drinking water shortages in the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation area, the HMWSSB MD announced that once Godavari Phase-2 works are completed by the end of 2027, steps will ensure every household receives an adequate daily supply of drinking water. He urged citizens to use water responsibly and called for public cooperation in raising awareness about water conservation.

Regarding the road from My Home Avatar to Sankataharana Hanuman Temple, Reddy explained the entire stretch must be excavated to strengthen the Gandipet Heritage Water Line and lay a new pipeline. This work aims to increase water supply to the Shaikpet HMWSSB water filter beds. "We have requested the work be completed quickly to minimize public inconvenience," said Goutham krishna reddy, a resident.
