HYDERABAD: The Central government has included Kondagattu in Divya Bharat, a 498-page publication released by NITI Aayog to promote tourism across the country.
The book allocates nine pages to Telangana and features Kondagattu, a major pilgrimage site in Jagitial district, among selected destinations.
Five temples selected for tourism promotion
The Centre has identified five temples in Telangana as tourism centres. These are Kondagattu in Jagitial district, Basara Saraswati Temple in Nirmal district, Bhadrachalam Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple, Keesaragutta in Medchal district, and Yadagirigutta in Yadadri district.

Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam expressed satisfaction over the recognition accorded to Kondagattu, which attracts lakhs of devotees every year and has an annual budget of ₹15 crore.
